Back to the Grind!

Welcome back everyone! Wow! I can't believe we are on Cold/Snow Day #6! I am thinking SPRING all the time now.  I cannot stress this enough...please, make sure your students are dressed appropriately for this weather.  Also, I will not be absent on Wednesday, January 29th, 2014 (today!). The conference I was to attend was canceled due to the weather. Thank you!

Ms. Kelsey will be gone :(

I am going to be gone on Tuesday, January 28th and Wednesday, January 29th for an Act 31 Conference in Ashland, WI. Due to the "cold day" on Monday I was unable to prep the students for my absence. If you could please let your students know that I will be gone that would be wonderful. Thank you very much! :) Stay warm!

Brrr....COLD!!!

REMINDER: Please, Please, Please be sure that your students are dressed and ready to go for these cold winter months we have ahead of us. This winter, as you all know, has been a horribly cold experience. Your students NEED to have boots, hats, mittens, scarves, snow pants, and a winter jacket with them at all times. It is no fun when I have 3 or 4 students come up to me unprepared for recess or the bus and I do not have enough stuff to share with them.  Please let me know if you need assistance in making sure your student is ready to go for the cold. We can help with that.  Thanks :)

Loom Bracelets/Electronics

I have spoken with the class about this, but just wanted to share the word with you as parents too. I think I have kind of created a monster with my Free-Time Friday; although it is an awesome reward for those students who do not lose tickets by having their assignment notebook signed and homework done, it has become kind of an issue with the students bringing in their  choice of toy on the other days of the week. Please remind your student to not bring their electronics or loom bracelet kits into the room unless it is okay'd by me for Free-Time Friday. They have become more of a distraction than fun! Thank you for your help with this. :) I appreciate it.

Just a reminder that we will be having the 4th Grade End of the Quarter Reward Day on Friday! We will be going outside to play games in the snow and make snow sculptures. If your student does not have 75% of the tickets given for 2nd Quarter they will not be allowed to participate.  Please make sure that your student has warm clothes for tomorrow as we will be outside from 1:00-2:15pm (it is suppose to be quite warm!)  Students should have: snow pants, winter jacket, gloves, hat, scarf, boots, etc.  Thank you! :)

EARLY RELEASE

THERE WILL BE AN EARLY DISMISSAL ON JANUARY 23RD, 2014 THE HIS WILL BE DISMISSED AT 12:40PM PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE ARRANGED PLANS FOR YOUR STUDENT ON THIS DAY IF YOU HAVE A CHANGE IN PLANS, PLEASE BE SURE THAT MRS. GAY IS AWARE OF THOSE IN THE OFFICE ASAP.  THANK YOU. :)

Sorry! :(

HELLO! I am so sorry that I have kind of forgotten about updating my blog because of Christmas Break and all of the snow days/cold days we have had! END OF 2ND QUARTER/1ST SEMESTER We are coming to the close of the 2nd Quarter which also marks the end of the 1st Semester of 4th grade. I cannot believe it at all!!! MATH We have started our new math unit. Unit #4 is going to be a combination of comparison word problems, algebra and a few other new ideas dealing with mathematics. It is still VERY IMPORTANT that your student be practicing their flash cards for both division and multiplication. I have to be honest when I say they will not do well in this unit if they do not know their facts. So keep up the good work with practicing!!! ENGLISH AND LANGUAGE ARTS (ELA) We have also started a new novel, Mouse and the Motorcycle. This new novel marks the beginning of our 3rd ELA Unit titled "Animals are Characters, Too!" We will be exploring animal characteristics, perso...
